Calendar apps have made it so easy to not only have full control and visibility into your schedule but also share your schedule with those close to you. There is literally no reason not to use a calendar app, and the following reasons that you should:
1. You don\’t have to remember what\’s going on and when. Warren Buffet said that it\’s better to write things down rather than try to remember them. Mark Zuckerberg wears the same outfit every day because decisions take time and mental energy. Using a calendar will almost definitely reduce the amount of mental energy that you waste, so that you can out your mental energy into other, way more important things.
2. You can get more done. Have you ever been told about something happening that sounded cool, but then you forgot to follow up? That could be avoided completely if you had just booked that something in your calendar right when you were told about it! If you let opportunities slip through the cracks, then you\’re clearly hurting yourself.
3. You can work towards your goals. Calendars show you what times you are doing things, but they also show you the times you aren\’t doing things. Seeing when you have free time allows you to fill that time with those tasks that you have been promising yourself to do. For example, you might have a book you\’d like to finish, a friend you\’d like to call, a product you need to research before buying or some YouTube videos you need to watch before tackling that home repair you have been putting off. The possibilities are endless – it all depends on what your goals are, but having your calendar up to date will surely help you reach those goals sooner.
4. You can be in control of your schedule. There are countless men and women who let their significant other do all the planning. If you are one of those people, ask yourself why you are letting someone else plan your time. Some people might say they don\’t want the responsibility, and others might say they don\’t have anything to do. If you\’re one of those people, then have another read through reason 1, 2 and 3 and then ask yourself once again if you really want someone else planning your time.
5. You can be a team player. If you and your significant other want to be the strongest team possible, you are going to need a calendar to make that happen. Calendar apps like Google Calendar allow you to share you calendar with those close to you. Couples who use this feature can see each other\’s schedule so that they can both reach their goals and maintain a healthy social life. Be happy for your partner if they are doing what they want to, and expect the same in return.
Remember that time is a finite resource. Those who have run out of it will never get it back. For their sake, and (more importantly) yours, don\’t waste the time you have. Use a calendar.
